Fourth Grade Students Help the Pandas

Fourth grade students at Ascension Lutheran School in Thousand Oaks, California were given the opportunity to do “Passion Projects”. Students came up with a list of potential types of organizations that they would be interested in serving. There were three students who chose to help endangered animals. The students were then assigned the task of finding an organization that they wanted to help. The boys found Pandas International, and started forming a plan to serve. They settled on holding a Lemonade Stand to raise money to donate. They made signs, flyers, and announced their upcoming sale during our weekly Chapel time. They even submitted a grant request to the church to cover the cost of the lemonade stand supplies, so that all of the money could go to the organization, which they were granted. The boys were in charge of running the lemonade stand, and were able to raise $225.
